We're pregnant...again! :)

On February 8, 2012, I decided to take a pregnancy test because my period was late. Dennis and I had been trying to get pregnant since the beginning of the school year. I was very excited to see that the results were "positive." I ended up taking two different tests to be on the safe side! :) Then I went into the living room, where Dennis and Andrew were sitting on the couch. I approached Dennis from behind and showed him the test. I asked him, "does this look positive to you?" I was very excited, but Dennis was a bit annoyed. He was upset that I didn't surprise him in a better way! MEN! I think I just caught him off-guard, so he wasn't sure what to say. :) He quickly changed his tune, and he told me that he was happy. He was hoping that he could finally get his girl this time. We'll see!

Telling Andrew wasn't the same happy experience. Though, he was only 22 1/2 months old, he did have his opinions. I told him that mommy and daddy are going to have a baby, and he just simply replied by saying "no baby!" At first, Dennis and I thought it was really cute and funny, but after a while, we didn't think he'd ever warm up to the idea. This was what led me to the idea of introducing "baby" early. I have lots of toys in our hall closet from when I was younger, and one that I thought would fit perfectly with this situation was a baby Cabbage Patch Doll. We gave the baby to Andrew and started practicing how to behave with baby and how to hold baby, etc. He quickly started to love that doll to the point where he would sleep with it every night. This was our transitional tool to get him into big-brother mode.
